A sheet of aluminum is measured by its thickness (gauge) using a calliper. The gauge number and metal thickness have an inverse relationship—higher gauge numbers indicate thinner material. The material thickness of an aluminum sheet starts at 0.10″ and goes all the way up to .170″. Thickness is important because it impacts the product’s resistance levels (i.e. wear, electrical).
